Making of: De bende van Oss

De Bende van Oss, is a feature film by Andre van Duren set in the year 1938. To create a rich en believable environment we were set to the task to extend multiple filmsets with CG-houses, CG-industrial areas and  recreate the Rotterdam Habor of that time. We built a digital version of the old ship the SS Rotterdam and made it sail on a digital sea.

In Maya we created a library tool with digital assets to populate each set under the close eye of the director Andre van Duren. For the sea shot a digital sea was simulated in Realflow. Each digital set extension was rendered and composited in Nuke. Next to that we used Nuke to set alleyways and houses on fire with plates, track the shots and do integration.
